I don't know if you will read this blog yourself, but I have a strong desire, along with my mother, Stella Lavergne, to pray for and think of you fondly. We both have admired and respected your view on the world's happenings for many years. 22. This is a letter from Japan. ABC's WNT has been my favorite program. I don't remember exactly when I started to see ABC news. For many years I have seen Peter Jennings on TV. I turned on TV and he was always there. His Englsih came so smoothly and tenderly to my ears. His voice is soft and beautiful. He had been reporting from everywhere in the world to tell the facts. I have been admiring him as a journalist very much. The news is not the same without you. I miss you very much. I pray for your recovery and am looking forwards to seeing you again on TV.

To Peter Jennings: Having just gone through Chemotherapy for breast cancer I have a vague idea of what you are going through.It's been said, and I certainly do agree, that cancer is a lonely disease. Regardless of the quality and quanity of support you receive it can be at times a very lonely expierence. I don't have advice for you or anyone, I can just say that my poetry writing and sharing my feeling helped me get through difficult times. God bless you and may your recovery be speedy and complete. 30. I was diagnosed with 4th stage lung cancer in 2000 (November 14th. Surgeon in VA sewed me up and said there was nothing to do but treat symptoms no cure - same from oncology. I asked for a second opinion. I was directd to Duke to the Morris Cancer Clinic at Duke Medical Univerity. About 7-8 weeks later they said that the tumor in left lung was i/2 what it had been. I was on two chemos and an experimental drug Iressa NOW is FDA approved.
Was able to go back to work as a LIbrary Media Specialist in a high school in 2001-2001 school year. I worked for 2 years and was rediagnised in 2004 (March) for lung and brain cancer stopped work full time and took radiation and more chemo but no more Iressa. OK until January of 2005 (Quit working.) both reoccured. Took a new drug Tarceva but didn't work for me. Radiation for whole head then a break. I am waiting for new tests to see what we will do next. It is quite an adventure but the longer we can hangin there the more they can develop new treatments. Hope and prayers are the best medicine. I am still here because of it I am sure! Hang in there Peter and others out there.

I realize that we have never met and this should really be addresses as Mr. Jennings but because you have come into my home on so many occassions I feel as if you are family. My husband and I were terribly upset to hear about your battle with cancer. We pray for you and think of you often. I, too, have tried to find updates on your condition but am unable to do so. Please know that many well wishers, who also consider you family, are thinking of you and praying for you, as well.

Please forgive me for saying that you are indeed a lucky man. So many have welcomed you not only into their homes but into their hearts. So many miss you terribly and are praying for you.
