Women who are overweight and don’t exercise much have more than twice the risk of getting breast cancer, according to a study published in the June issue of the American Association for Cancer Research’s journal Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention.
Researchers on the study say that eating less and working out more could help ward off the disease.
Forty-five minutes of brisk walking or 20 minutes of vigorous exercise per day is considered enough exercise to diminish the potential of developing breast cancer by more than half, the study says.
