Before my diagnosis of cancer, a visit to the
doctor's office, and the reason for the visit, was most often met with an assurance from the doctor that whatever the
malady, it was probably nothing serious. After a diagnosis of cancer, it seems I can be suffering from nothing more
than sore gardening muscles, or some other such malady, and I am immediately sent to a hospital lab for tests. Many lab
tests are intrusive, invasive, uncomfortable and painful. It is just not the way I want to spend my morning, but that is
how I spent my morning. This afternoon, Cambridge Medical Research Council researchers announced they have developed a simple test
to detect throat cancer, that is less expensive and less risky, using a spongy pill and a piece of string. It still
sounds like an uncomfortable test, but seems better than the camera attached to a long tube currently used to look for
throat cancer.Note: The contents of this blog are for informational purposes only and should not be construed as medical advice or substitute for professional care. For medical emergencies, dial 911!

1. Today's health problems.
It is generally recognised that many of today's health problems are caused and have become more prolific, because of changes that have taken place in our bodies over the last hundred years or so. The body's natural ability to defend and heal has for many people, been weakened. Modern living conditions, polution, industrialised farming and food processing techniques are all suspects. Many of us now have deficient levels of essential nutrients in our diets, are accumulating residues all types of toxic waste, and have bodily fluids which have become far too acidic.
These issues stress and inhibit the functionality of our protective and healing processes, which allows illness to take hold and flourish.
