Dakoda Dowd, the young
13 year-old golf prodigy, made her LPGA debut on April 28th. While her age and talent, she is currently ranked number
one in the country in her age group, are both remarkable, it is also her story that causes one to catch their breath in
disbelief. Her mother, Kelly Jo Dowd, is terminally ill with breast cancer and may have just a few more months to live.
When the sponsors of the Ginn Clubs & Resorts Open
heard that it was her mother's dream to watch Dakoda play for with the pros, they invited her to try out for the
tournament and then play alongside the women of professional golf. Although Dakoda did not make the cut, she showed
amazing promise for somebody so young and caught the eye of many pros and sponsors. And even if she did not win on the
