Cancer killing beams shot directly at the tumor in a breast is used to eradicate the cancerous cells. This
procedure could cut treatment time down considerably, from 6 weeks to 5 days. An intensive study is being
conducted in Canada to determine if the new procedure is as effective as treating the entire breast. Partial
breast radiation attempts to treat the areas which house errant cancer cells. This could be a huge break-through
in breast cancer treatment.
