Art for Cure, a non-profit organization, was founded by Jennifer Carr Patrizio, Jennifer Tisch, and Bob Stockfield. The two Jennifer's are my friends and fellow young breast cancer survivors. I was contacted by Jen and Jen to participate in the calendar by having a photo of me appear in it! How exciting!
Jennifer Carr Patrizio is a five year breast cancer survivor and a two year leukemia survivor. Jennifer Tisch is a two-time breast cancer survivor. Together, with freelance photographer Bob Stockfield, they have created a beautiful calendar called Life Blooms Desk Calendar.
The Life Blooms Desk Calendar is a month-at-a-glance format, features breathtaking photography of pink flora and motivational prose on one side, and candid photography of breast cancer survivors on the back. You can purchase the calendar for $20.

Jennifer is a young breast cancer survivor that was also faced with the diagnoses of leukemia after her breast cancer journey. Jennifer is surviving and living life to the fullest. She knows how precious life is and she wanted to share her story with us.
How did you find out you had breast cancer?
I found my lump myself when I scratched an itch on the outer part of my left breast. Within the next two weeks I had a mammogram, ultrasound and needle core biopsy. On May 16, 2002, I was diagnosed with stage 2b breast cancer. It was an aggressive tumor; it was not detected on a routine mammogram four months earlier. If it was not for the urgency of the radiologist, who is a breast cancer survivor herself, my cancer could have been diagnosed at a later stage, and I might not be here today.

It might be
celebrity gossip but news is flying around the internet that Nike has offered Jennifer Aniston a record deal for her celebrity endorsement in exchange for donations that will benefit cancer research. It is being reported Aniston will be appearing in both television commercials and print ads for Nike.
According to the buzz, it might be the most Nike has ever offered for a celebrity endorsement. For Jennifer Aniston? Is she that popular? I am not being snarky.
Really I am not. I just didn't know she was popular on the level that Nike would offer her the most money they have offered anyone for a celebrity endorsement.
Not long ago, Sheryl Crow publicly thanked her family and friends Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox for keeping her spirits up during the first days after breast cancer diagnosis. Maybe there is something to the Nike deal. If the amount of money being reported is true, and it is earmarked for cancer charity -- then it's worthy of a mention at The Cancer Blog. We appreciate any sizable donation to cancer research.

Jennifer found me on the internet. She was looking for breast cancer blogs just after her diagnosis in September 2005. She wanted to read first-hand accounts of women who traveled before her on this path of uncertainty. So she found me and she read
my story but she wanted more. So I led her to a few sites that I found to be helpful and inspirational and then something happened. Jennifer -- new to the cancer world and seeking information herself became a source of strength for me. I check her
blog regularly and marvel at how she manages her world while battling cancer. She is 26 years old, a wife, and a mother of a 17-month-old daughter. She works full-time, attends college as she pursues a medical degree, and somehow makes it seem not-so-terribly-overwheming. Her blog is insightful, touching, powerful, and moving. A blog I would quickly recommend to others searching for spirited stories of breast cancer survivors.
