Breast cancer survivor auctions boobs as art

Molly MacDonald knows it will create attention and that is what she wants in order to raise funds for a non-profit to help women struggling with financial issues while they undergo breast cancer treatment.

Last year, MacDonald was diagnosed with breast cancer and what she remembers is the financial struggles of meeting monthly living expenses and medical expenses. She was between jobs, and found herself barely making if financially and needing to borrow money.

MacDonald would like to help other women who find themselves in the same bind of not only worrying about surviving the chemotherapy and radiation treatments for breast cancer but also how to keep the pantry stocked and sometimes, how to keep from becoming homeless. On Monday, MacDonald is launching an eBay auction of a bust of her pre-surgery breasts.

According to the feature story of events planner and graphics consultant MacDonald, "The great thing about eBay is if it's weird, it gets attention." The bust up for auction was cast by artist Nance Aitchison in dental stone and painted gold and yellow the night before MacDonald's breast cancer surgery last year.

On behalf of women facing financial struggles during breast cancer treatments she hopes to help with her fundraising efforts, she said she is ready for her 15 minutes of eBay fame. MacDonald is calling her non-profit the Pink Fund.

No, Venus de Milo is not up for auction.

Cancer patient sells ad space on bald head

David Mise, 20, who was diagnosed with Hodgkin's lymphoma in May, placed an item for auction on eBay and was told by eBay to take it down. Because of chemotherapy hair loss, David has decided to sell advertising space on his bald head to the highest bidder. David, the father of a beautiful little boy, is a sheet metal worker who cannot work right now. He is trying to raise money to pay some of his bills.

On David's new eBay auction page it reads:

"DUE TO HAVING TO COMPLY WITH EBAY'S VERY STRICT REGULATIONS AND RULES AND CHARITY REGULATIONS I HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED THAT I CANNOT LIST A REASON FOR MY AUCTION AND APOLOGIZE DEEPLY FOR MY LAST BEING PULLED OFF, IT SIMPLY WASN'T MY FAULT BUT I'M STILL HOPING FOR THE BEST AND STILL HAVE MY HEAD UP FOR AUCTION."

I believe the caps, as the statement appears on the eBay auction page, reflects his level of frustration. So there you go. Maybe David cannot tell you why his bald head is available as advertising space -- but we can. The eBay item number is: 330013072811 and the auction runs through Saturday at 5:52 p.m. David ends his eBay auction with Happy Bidding and God Bless. We wish you the best of luck and May God Bless you too.

Cock Blocker Clothing benefits breast cancer with auction

Out of Las Vegas, urban fashion designer and Cock Blocker Clothing founder Mark James has started a company with major attitude. As the company states on its website, it offers an artistic sense of humor to an otherwise vicious and often times malicious environment of everyday life issues of politics, art, sex, relationships, love, race, religion, business, and war.

Cock Blocker Clothing is popular with celebrities, who have autographed many Cock Blocker Clothing apparel items for an auction to benefit the 3-Day walk for breast cancer charity.

Supporting breast cancer research is personal for James, whose mother is currently battling her own diagnosis of breast cancer. He wants to help other women who are going through the same struggles as his mother in contributing to something that can make a positive difference.

Cock Blocker Clothing might not be for everyone. If you enjoy a wicked sense of humor and off-the-grid attitude, then you might appreciate the business passion of a man who once worked -- or as he says slaved -- for seven years in the corporate world of entertainment in Los Angeles for Warner Bros. & Fox Studios and then escaped.

If you would like to be a sponsor, make donations or take part in auction bidding, check in at the Cock Blocker Clothing website where auction, fundraiser time, date, and venue information will be posted June 25. You can view photos of the autographed-by-celebrities Cock Blocker Clothing items at that time.

Darren Clarke: Shot of the Month trophy will be auctioned for cancer

Stopped by Darren Clarke's blog today and read that he has donated the $1,840 dollar prize from his Shot of the Month award to cancer charity and will begin an online auction for the trophy that he received with it to raise additional money for cancer charity.

Clarke posted, "It really is a worthwhile cause and a superb trophy so here is a chance for a generous benefactor to help us fight this terrible disease by winning our auction."

Clarke's wife, Heather, has been battling breast cancer that has spread to her bones and liver. They have two sons, and while Clarke is a competitive athlete, his first priorities and heart are with his wife, as she struggles with ongoing cancer treatments.

When Tiger Woods was worried during his late father's struggle with prostate cancer, Clarke was one of the people Woods spent time with, as both understood how the other felt.

If you are interested in bidding on the trophy, Clarke said he will be posting information about it shortly.

Help Terry: students organize celebrity auction for janitor

Olympus Junior High janitor Terry Birch is deaf and needs cochlear implants. Last summer, his wife, who is also deaf, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is currently undergoing chemotherapy. After that, she will begin radiation therapy. The Birch's have four children.

According to the Mrs. Leffler's Utah Studies students, the Birch family cannot afford the expensive surgery for cochlear implants and the medical bills keep mounting with Mrs. Birch's breast cancer treatments. The students decided they wanted to help and organized a letter writing campaign to over 1,000 celebrities asking each one to sign memorabilia that the students could auction off on eBay to raise money for the Birch family.

Emily Tyndell, who played Trisha, in the hit movie Napoleon Dynamite, actually stopped by the school to visit the students. Other celebrities who have agreed to help the students help the Birch family are: Alicia Keys, John Mayer, Denzel Washington, Matthew McConaughey, Elijah Wood, John Travolta, Ryan Cabrera and the Bravery. Also being auctioned at eBay are tickets to the upcoming movie premiere of Jack Black's Nacho Libre and autographed items from sports legends Magic Johnson, Wayne Gretzky, Steve Young and Pittsburgh Steelers players. This is an amazing life-changing experience for both the Birch family and the exceptional students of Olympus Junior High. The eBay auction will run from May 15 - 25. To learn more about Birch family, the students and the auction, visit the Help Terry blog.
