C is for Cupid is a dating service for people whose lives have been affected by cancer. Founded by survivors, their goal is to provide a comfortable and confidential environment for members to connect with compatible singles and friends.
How does it work?
Registered members make a profile that can be viewed by other members and you can browse other member's profiles and chose to communicate through a private mailbox on the website. When you have a message C is for Cupid will send a notice to your registered email that you have mail.
Your email and personal information remains confidential unless you choose to share it. Only those who have registered and have been approved can fully participate in the website.

I'm in a stable relationship now but I spent a few years entrenched in the dating scene and though I look somewhat fondly on my days of single freedom, I still shudder at the bad things about dating -- awkward silences, clumsy first kisses, realizing that you have no chemistry and you still have two more courses of conversation to fill. But we still put up with all of this because by nature, we want to find that someone. We know they're out there, somewhere.
Considering how difficult the dating scene was on someone like average like me, I can't imagine how hard dating would be for those who are un-average--those who are ill or disabled or disfigured. In a world where outwardly appearances and 'fitting in' are so important, how do you meet people who won't mind that you come with a few flaws?

Fighting for Our Future:How Young Women Find Strength, Hope, and Courage While Taking Control of Breast Cancer. Beth Murphy spent two years studing young women with breast cancer and her book gives young women a valuable resource.
Fighting for Our Future talks about many issues related specifically to women under forty diagnosed with breast cancer. Some of this issues are fertility, pregnancy, negotiating treatment, living with the illness, sexuality and dating. It reaches out to the newly diagnosed and those living with metastatic disease to all in between.
Breast Cancer patients tell their own stories throughout sections of the book. They decribe treatment and procedures and give the real information that the young women need to know.

Sisters In Survivorship is an active and
exclusive private online health discussion group for young breast cancer survivors, diagnosed at age 45 and younger.
