Cancer Research UK is about to increase its wealth -- once a signed honeymoon photograph of the Prince and Princess of Wales is auctioned.

The photograph reportedly came from an unnamed member of the Royal Household and had been purchased by a collector. Taken on the Royal Estate at Balmoral just days after the wedding of Charles and Diana, it's Diana's signature prominently displayed on the photograph -- it reads, Lots of Love, Diana.

The auction, organized by a businesswomen whose lost her mother-in-law to breast cancer, will take place on June 9 at a charity ball at the London Marriott Hotel, Grosvenor Square. It is expected to sell for £3,000.

The American Cancer Society (ACS) of Ohio has filed a lawsuit challenging the state's workplace smoking ban. The ban exempts some military veterans' halls and other private clubs -- and the ASC says this is not OK.

The exemption waters down the law and exposes people to secondhand smoke, say ACS spokeswoman Wendy Simpkins.

The smoking ban was approved by 58 percent of voters in November, took effect in December, and will result in fining beginning the first week in May. The law prohibits smoking in most public places, such as restaurants, bars, and office and excludes tobacco shops, designated hotel rooms, and enclosed areas of nursing homes. Halls and clubs can be excluded from the law only if there are no employees.

Jay Carey, spokesman for the state Health Department, says public health officials have the authority to set rules for enforcement. They ultimately decided that VFW halls and other private clubs were exempt if they had only members as employees. For the exemption to apply, such clubs also must be nonprofit and in a freestanding building. No nonmembers or children under age 18 can be present.

The ACS argues that the state rules are confusing and make the law unworkable.

Patrick Wayne, son of late actor John Wayne, says Larry King has true grit. And that's why the CNN talk show host will receive the True Grit Award next month, an honor that hails from the John Wayne Cancer Institute.

King, 73, will receive his honor at the annual Odyssey Ball on April 14 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Jamie Lee Curtis will host the event that will commemorate the centennial of John Wayne's birth.

The Odyssey Ball began 22 years ago and has helped raise more the $14 million to support the John Wayne Cancer Institute's research and treatment programs.

"Larry King epitomizes the strengths and qualities that characterized my father, and for which the True Grit Award was created," said Wayne, who serves as chairman of the board at the institute, located at the Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica.

Founded by the Wayne family in 1981, the institute honors John Wayne who died of stomach cancer in 1979.

No one has ever credited millionaire heiress Paris Hilton with being anything but a pro at papazzari primping. Unless you are a Paris Hilton fan -- and if this story is true -- it might not come as a great shock but it is still despicable. The incident being reported involves innocent children.

Seems Ms. Hilton was playing to the cameras and not to the hearts of the children she promised to help at Paradise Kids. While visiting the Gold Coast, she pledged her support to the children battling cancer by staging a benefit concert, stating that "My grandmother died of cancer and I almost lost my cousin to leukemia. It's just something very important to me. I love kids and I just feel it's the right thing to do. It makes me feel good about myself and it helps other people."

According to Paradise Kids co-founder Reverend Dr. Ian Mavor, after the cameras were gone, so was Hilton. Mayor told the news reporter interviewing him that because she made a public vow to raise $250,000 dollars for the charity, it has hurt the Gold Coast Paradise Kids fundraising efforts. He said no one thinks the charity needs money since Hilton is supposedly helping them. This all happened two years ago. Mayor has tried to contact Hilton, but to no avail. Maybe the check is in the mail. Right.

NBC Nightly News anchor Brian Williams is featuring Maria Friedman in one of the profiles of people making a difference. Friedman, a breast cancer survivor and cancer prevention advocate, is a remarkable woman and actress, who decided the show must go on despite a breast cancer diagnosis, surgery and treatment. She continued to perform on the Broadway stage in The Woman in White, and even recorded a new CD of songs with composer Stephen Sondheim. During the month of May, you can watch her sing at New York's landmark Carlyle Hotel.

Friedman -- the mother of two -- chose to appear on NBC Nightly News because she wants women to know that they can survive breast cancer and live a full life. She also wants women to get checked and to pay attention to any changes in their body. She found the lump on her own, and because of its location, it would not have been picked up with a mammogram. Friedman emphasized that the breast is a much larger area than most women think of it, going up to the collarbone and wrapping down under the arm.
