Little House on the Prairie creator dies at 85

Ed Friendly, television producer and thoroughbred horse owner, helped create the hits Little House on the Prairie and Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In has died from cancer.

The show Laugh-In, that he co-created, won several Emmys. Ed served as an infantry captain in World War II. His jobs included advertising, radio and later television director, director of sales for ABC, contract producer at CBS and he eventually became NBC's vice president of special programs. Looks like he had all the major networks covered!

Friendly is survived by his second wife, a daughter, son, and three grandchildren.

Eddie Van Halen has cure for cancer

From Blabbermouth: Eddie Van Halen has developed a cure for cancer. Yep. Is he telling anyone what the cure is? Nope. Did smoking cause his two bouts of oral cancer? According to Eddie Van Halen, smoking did not cause his cancer, and he still smokes. What caused his cancer? He speculates it might have been the metal guitar pick he used.

This story comes from Launch Radio Networks, who reported on the Sirius Satellite Radio conversation Eddie Van Halen had with Howard Stern last Friday. I didn't hear the radio program, as my tolerance for Stern is low, but I do regret I missed this conversation.

I feel as if some significant portion of the conversation got left out in the retelling of the event -- but if not -- what do you mean you have a cure for cancer but you are not telling anyone? Metal guitar pick? Eddie, please stop talking about cancer. I am a huge fan but this sounds utterly nonsensical.

Anyone else listen to this call-in from Eddie Van Halen to the Howard Stern Show?

Producer/Recording Artist Sandra Grace donates CD sales to breast cancer

South Beach, FL Producer/Recording Artist Sandra Grace is donating part of the proceeds of her new CD "Do You Have A Lover?" to breast cancer research and awareness in honor of her mother, aunt, and some dear friends who have survived breast cancer and inspired the music on the album. She will personally autograph and mail out each CD ordered from her website in July 2006. The CD sells for $9.99.

As for the music, "Do You Have A Lover?" can best be described as Madonna meets Fran Drescher! It's a good work-out album: electronica with dance and progressive house influence, and a pop ballad snuck in for cool-down. I know I for one can use a new work out CD to exercise to. To get an advance copy of "Do You Have A Lover?", please visit her website here

Sandra Grace was just recently featured on the cover of  Express, a South Florida newspaper, with Lily Tomlin and George Bush!
